The Green Spain, located in the north of Spain, encompasses four Spanish regions: Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, and the Basque Country. Naturally, the predominant color of its stunning natural landscapes is green. Another dominant feature is the great variety of landscapes, from beautiful beaches and cliffs to mountains and green valleys.

Routes
The Costa Verde Express train offers an exciting journey along Spain’s Green Coast. In 2025, it has two scheduled 6-day routes: Santiago de Compostela – Bilbao and Bilbao – Santiago de Compostela, where we will visit Santiago de Compostela, Viveiro, Oviedo, Llanes, Cabezón de la Sal, Santander, and Bilbao. There are also two short 3-day routes: from Oviedo to Bilbao and from Santiago de Compostela to Oviedo, where we will visit places like Oviedo, Picos de Europa, Llanes, Santillana, Santander, Bilbao, Santiago de Compostela, and Viveiro. These routes share in common the passage through beautiful landscapes of mountains, valleys, and rugged coastlines. Along the way, travelers will be able to admire the impressive cliffs of the northern coast, the green meadows of the Asturian region, and the stunning mountains of the Picos de Europa.

Santiago de Compostela
One of the most notable stops of the Costa Verde Express Route is the city of Santiago de Compostela, the spiritual capital of Galicia and the final destination of the famous Camino de Santiago. Here, travelers can admire the impressive Cathedral of Santiago and stroll through the beautiful cobbled streets of the city.
Oviedo
Another interesting stop is the city of Oviedo, the capital of the Principality of Asturias, known for its rich history and artistic heritage.
